Optum Behavioral Health / UBH: Optum Pay EFT

As of October 9, 2026. Optum’s Provider Express electronic-payments page directs behavioral-health providers to Optum Pay, formerly Electronic Payments & Statements (EPS). Use that payment page alongside your claim remittance; a Provider Express login alone is not bank enrollment.

Does Optum Behavioral Health / UBH use Optum Pay?
The Provider Express instructions describe ACH/direct deposit and virtual cards through Optum Pay, with an exception for older PBH claims. Keep that exception visible when tracing an old payment. Confirm the issuer on the remittance rather than applying this route to every plan that uses an Optum network.
Avoid confusing card processing and Premium fees
Provider Express lists free Basic access, Premium at 0.5% per payment, and merchant processing charges for virtual cards. Its comparison is the payer-specific starting point. Check the current cap and enrollment caveats before choosing paid portal features.
Enroll the right practice in ACH
Go to Optum How to Enroll and use the practice enrollment classification.
Confirm the legal business name, TIN and intended deposit account with the practice owner. Check for an existing enrollment before starting another.
Select ACH rather than VCP in the public enrollment selector. Use the live requirements for banking evidence and contacts.
Review the access tier separately. If an outside biller needs data access, review the biller-association guide before assuming Basic meets that need.
Keep the confirmation and reconcile a future payment against its ERA. Confirm that the biller can retrieve the detail needed to post it.
Select the practice enrollment classification
For an Optum Pay practice enrollment, select “I am enrolling as a Healthcare Organization.” A third-party billing service uses the other classification. Select direct deposit for the ACH enrollment
For ACH, select “I would like to enroll in direct deposit (ACH) only.” This payment choice is separate from portal access pricing. Check the current payer eligibility and Premium terms before completing enrollment; the guide’s older feature list does not establish today’s Basic or biller-access benefits. Provider Express, Optum Pay and PES have different jobs
For the clinical/provider portal, see Provider Express account access. For payment detail and approved biller association, see Optum Pay biller access. For the separate payer EFT/ERA enrollment tool, see Payer Enrollment Services access. Start with the task you need to complete; do not assume access transfers between products.
If a virtual card or old payment is still outstanding
Keep the payment reference, issuer, issue date and redemption status together. Ask the issuer how that specific outstanding payment will be handled after ACH enrollment. Do not promise a paper-check replacement based on another payer’s instructions or redeem a card and request a second payment for it.
For payment enrollment assistance, Provider Express lists 877-620-6194 in its Optum Pay instructions. Use claim support for an adjudication or denial issue; payment setup does not change the payer’s allowed amount.
