TL;DR: use your own login, and give your biller their own
Use your own Availity account and select the payer for the member’s state and plan. Your biller needs their own user access and the tool’s required role; New York’s commercial manual names Provider Enrollment for its enrollment application. Creating an Availity account is separate from joining a network. Anthem’s state selector; New York provider manual, page 52.
Who needs their own Availity login
Your Availity credentials belong to you. The practice administrator grants separate user permissions. For New York commercial Provider Enrollment and Network Management, the named role is Provider Enrollment. Do not use that role name as a promise of access to claims or reporting in every Anthem market. Availity administrator guide.
The role example above follows the payer’s tool-specific instructions; it is not a blanket role for every billing task.
Before you create access: choose the state and product
Start at Anthem’s provider site and choose the applicable state. The selector lists California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin. It then separates program information; a state listing does not mean every county or product uses identical tools. Anthem provider state selector.
If you searched for “Elevance provider login,” first identify the actual health plan on the member’s card and use its provider instructions. This page covers Anthem routes; it is not a universal login for every affiliated brand or independent Blue plan. For other Blue plans, use our BCBS portal selector.
Find Anthem Payer Spaces and general transactions
Anthem’s commercial resources put claim status in Claims & Payments and eligibility and authorizations in Patient Registration. Payer Spaces provides payer-specific resources such as Remittance Inquiry. The available applications vary, so use the instructions for the selected market. Anthem digital applications and resources.
Payer-specific registration: enrollment and reporting differ
For New York, the May 2026 Quick Contact Guide routes enrollment to Payer Spaces → Anthem → Applications → Provider Enrollment and Network Management. The July 2026 commercial manual requires the Provider Enrollment role. Contract changes and demographic updates are separate requests; do not create a second Availity organization merely to add a network. New York quick contact guide; New York commercial manual, page 52.
Anthem’s commercial resources also instruct users to register Provider Data Management through My Providers → Enrollments Center. This application registration is separate from creating the person’s Availity login. Anthem PDM access instructions.
California offers another example: Provider Online Reporting needs an organization-level registration, and the administrator then grants individual access through Maintain User/Register User. The public California guide routes it through Payer Spaces → the health plan → Resources → Provider Online Reporting. Use those steps only for that reporting workflow, not as a nationwide claims-registration rule. California Availity tool instructions.
Give your biller access to Anthem tools
Have the administrator grant the role for the application you actually need. New York’s commercial enrollment application requires Provider Enrollment; California Provider Online Reporting has its own organization and user registration. These are separate from routine Availity account creation. Payer access instructions.
For creating the organization, inviting a biller and assigning Availity user access, use our existing Availity biller-access guide. Keep the biller on their own account and give only the functions you intend them to use.
If you do not know who grants access, the Availity guide shows an administrator lookup. This generic Availity figure is not a payer-specific enrollment screen.

The enrollment and reporting examples above are documented in current payer text, but those public guides do not supply a usable current permission-screen figure. The figure shows the shared administrator lookup; menu labels for a particular Anthem tool may differ. California reporting instructions.
Anthem login errors: password or missing payer tool?
For a forgotten user ID or password, use the two recovery links on the official login page. If you can sign in but cannot open a tool, ask the organization administrator to check access before registering another organization. The Availity administrator guide distinguishes account recovery from user permissions. For technical help, contact Availity Client Services at 800-282-4548.
For a payer transaction or participation question, use Anthem’s own provider instructions rather than treating it as a password reset.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Anthem provider portal login?
Anthem directs providers to Availity Essentials. Use your own Availity login and the instructions for the member’s state and plan, rather than assuming one payer tile covers every market.
Is there one Elevance provider login for every health plan?
This guide covers Anthem’s Availity routes. Identify the actual plan and use its provider instructions; do not treat an Anthem payer space as a universal route for every affiliated brand or independent Blue plan.
What role does my biller need for Anthem provider enrollment?
For New York commercial Provider Enrollment and Network Management, the July 2026 provider manual specifies Provider Enrollment. Other billing or reporting tasks require their own access; check the selected market’s guide.
Why can I sign in but not see Anthem reporting?
A login alone does not complete every tool’s setup. California’s Provider Online Reporting instructions require organization registration and individual user access. Other markets and tools may differ.
Does Availity registration enroll me in the Anthem network?
No. Availity account access and payer network participation are separate. Choose the applicable state and program, then follow its provider enrollment instructions.
