The announced migration is phased

As of October 9, 2026, Buckeye’s September 29 update announces migration from Payspan to Zelis in phases from November 2026 through early 2027. It covers several lines of business. This is an upcoming rollout, not proof every Buckeye payment has already left Payspan. Confirm the timing for the specific product. Buckeye September 29, 2026 migration notice

Choose the free replacement for claims payments

Buckeye’s notice links the Centene claims ePayment Center for free EFT and ERA. It distinguishes that route from optional ZAPP and virtual-card choices. Open the officially linked registration page when preparing the replacement election; do not select a premium service merely because its invitation arrives first. Claims and alternative payments have separate setup

Buckeye also identifies a separate ePayment Center for non-claims alternative payments. Ask which type of payment the practice receives before enrolling. Existing Zelis elections and future lines of business are addressed in the notice; confirm the actual election instead of creating a second enrollment without checking. Keep current Payspan access during preparation

Use the official Payspan help below for current access problems. Maintain a transition log with product, current route, replacement election and source date. When the first replacement payment arrives, reconcile it to the remittance and check that the next expected record appears in the correct system. If a payment is missing, ask which processor issued that particular payment rather than searching only the new account.

Existing Payspan account: add the payer and choose EFT

The screens below illustrate the Payspan interface in a January 2026 guide published by Arizona Complete Health. Your payer’s current product and payment instructions determine which options are available; this example does not replace them. Read the public Payspan tip sheet.

For an existing account adding a payer relationship, open Your Payments and Manage Reg. Codes, then Add New Reg. Code. Enter the registration code, PIN and TIN supplied for that payer relationship. Tip sheet, pages 1–2.

When Payment Preference offers ACH for the payer, select that option and review its terms before continuing. The guide says payment options depend on payer preferences; ask for the payer’s basic no-cost EFT route rather than assuming every ACH-branded offer has the same terms. Payment Preference example, page 2.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Buckeye’s free EFT option the same as ZAPP?

Buckeye’s notice lists free ePayment Center EFT/ERA separately from optional Zelis services. Confirm the product and agreement before making an election.
