Aetna Better Health Florida: No-Fee ECHO EFT
By George Ruan • October 9, 2026
As of October 9, 2026. Use the Aetna Better Health ECHO enrollment portal linked from the Florida plan’s claims page for no-fee EFT processing. The plan warns that ECHO’s ACH All Payer program carries fees. Check for Aetna Better Health branding before selecting your payment preferences.
This is a guide to Aetna Better Health of Florida’s published payment route. A commercial Aetna or Meritain remittance is a different payer context; use the name on the actual payment before choosing an enrollment path.

Why the dedicated ECHO link matters
Florida’s September 2024 provider bulletin confirms a permanent ECHO partnership for EFT and ERA services. The same bulletin distinguishes its no-fee dedicated portal from the paid All Payer ACH program. The operational decision is which service you enroll in, not whether the screen happens to say ACH.
Electronic funds transfer (EFT) sends the payment to the bank. Electronic remittance advice (ERA), often called an 835 file, supplies the claim-payment explanation. The plan describes both in its EERS payment-service instructions. Plan for the bank deposit and the posting file together.
Before you start: find the ECHO draft and amount
For authentication, the plan requires an ECHO draft number and payment amount. It says the draft number is typically above the first claim on the Explanation of Provider Payments (EPP). Providers receiving their first ECHO payment get a paper check with a draft number to use for registration. Enrollment authentication instructions.
Keep the check or EPP and its corresponding amount together; avoid combining a number from one payment with an amount from another.
Have the practice owner confirm the legal billing entity and intended bank account before someone changes payment preferences.
Ask the biller to identify the intended clearinghouse or posting destination for the ERA. Keep that decision alongside the EFT setup.
These are preparation checks to reduce confusion. If you have no draft yet or the portal rejects it, contact ECHO rather than substituting another practice’s payment reference. ECHO’s official provider support page lists 888-834-3511.
Enroll in the Florida no-fee EFT route
Open the dedicated Aetna Better Health link from Florida’s current claims page, using the official link above.
Check the Aetna Better Health name at the top left of the enrollment page. The payer explicitly uses that branding to identify its no-fee portal.
Authenticate with the ECHO draft number and corresponding amount, then follow the current form’s instructions.
Select or update the payment and ERA distribution preferences for the correct billing entity. Review the terms before submitting.
Keep the acknowledgment. Ask support to confirm which payer payments are covered and how you will know the election is active.
The dedicated portal, branding check, authentication and preference changes are documented on Florida’s EERS page. The numbered sequence organizes those instructions; exact screens may change.
Review payment documents after enrollment
Payment-document access is separate from the payer EFT election. ECHO’s published portal guide shows the following account screens; they do not replace the dedicated payer enrollment link or establish its fee terms. Follow the current portal prompts if the layout differs.
Sign in or choose registration
Open ProviderPayments.com. Existing users enter their own credentials and choose Log In. First-time users choose the registration link below the sign-in area.

Create an account if you are a first-time user
Complete Create a New Account using the on-screen instructions. Once signed in, use Inquiry to locate the payment and its EPP or 835 remittance. Check the payment reference against the bank deposit before marking the EFT setup complete.

Does no-fee enrollment mean every ECHO service is free?
No. The Florida partnership bulletin says no fees apply when using its dedicated portal and separately warns that All Payer ACH has charges. Ask for the name and price of any additional service before accepting it. Keep the written election so a later deduction can be checked against the service you chose.
What if the ERA or payment is missing?
The current Florida claims page warns that an ERA can lag the payment. Check the payment reference and the selected ERA destination before assuming the claim was not paid. Use the current enrollment acknowledgment for activation details.
For follow-up, separate three questions: Did the payer issue the payment? Did it reach the bank? Did the remittance reach the posting system? Bring the relevant payment reference to the appropriate support team and keep their answers with the enrollment acknowledgment.
What to do about earlier card or ACH fees
If you already processed a virtual card, ask your merchant processor to explain the statement charge. If an ACH deposit includes a vendor fee, ask ECHO to identify the selected program and its terms. Request any available correction separately from the future enrollment change; neither the dedicated portal nor a new election guarantees a refund of old charges.
Before processing a pending card, ask ECHO how that specific payment will be handled while preferences change. Keep the card reference on the open-items list until the replacement or settlement is confirmed.
