TL;DR: use your own login, and give your biller their own

Use your own DMAP login. If the provider is enrolled for FFS or both FFS and managed care, the administrator can give your biller a separate Delegate account. MCO-only and ORP providers cannot register delegates, and provider enrollment is separate from portal registration. Official guide.

Who needs their own DMAP login

The provider’s administrator and a registered delegate use separate accounts. Never share your password. The June 2026 FAQ limits provider delegate registration to FFS and dually enrolled providers; MCO-only and ORP providers cannot register a delegate. A delegate’s portal access does not permit that person to revalidate the provider. Official guide.

Before you create access

Locate the MCDID and portal PIN in the provider welcome letter. The June 2026 FAQ says separate provider accounts and PINs are needed for each practice/service location’s MCDID. Do not assume one provider login automatically covers all your locations. Official guide.

Determine the provider’s enrollment type before planning biller access. An MCO-only provider cannot use an unavailable delegate function as a substitute for access to the health plan’s own portal. Official guide.

How to create your DMAP account

Choose Register Now from the official provider home, then select Provider for provider-account registration. Use Delegate only when the provider has established the delegate assignment and supplied the required registration details. Trading Partner is a separate choice. Official guide.

Follow the current provider registration prompts using the MCDID and portal PIN from the welcome letter. After activation, sign in with the account you created. The enrollment application’s tracking number and password are not the same as the secure portal User ID and password. Official guide.

Add your biller

For an eligible FFS or dually enrolled provider, have the provider administrator establish delegate access for the biller, then have the biller register using the Delegate choice on Register Now. The biller uses their own account rather than the provider administrator’s credentials. Official guide.

The FAQ lists delegate functions such as eligibility verification, claims, prior authorization and secure correspondence. It explicitly says delegates cannot revalidate the provider. MCO-only and ORP providers cannot register delegates; contact Provider Services for the appropriate alternative rather than sharing a provider password. Official guide.

Login errors and account recovery

DMAP begins with User ID, not the password. After Log In, answer the challenge question and confirm the site key and passphrase before entering your password. If the site key or passphrase does not match, the reset guide says not to enter the password and to contact support. Official guide.

Use Forgot User ID or Forgot Password as appropriate. The June 2026 FAQ lists Provider Services at 800-999-3371, option 0 then 4. If a delegate can sign in but their usual functions are missing, the January 2026 Restore Delegate Functionality guide directs them to select another portal link such as Resources, then return Home. Official guide.
