TL;DR: use your own login, and give your biller their own
Use your own Availity login. Your biller gets their own User account and the roles your administrator approves. Wellpoint network enrollment is a separate state-plan task, even when its application also opens through Availity. Official account and access guidance
Who needs their own provider login
Your biller uses their own Availity user account. An administrator assigns roles for the work they need, such as eligibility or claim status. “Biller” is a job, not a special universal Availity role; the documented account is a User with assigned roles. Do not grant Administrator merely because someone submits claims. Official user and administrator guidance
Choose the Wellpoint state before the payer space
Wellpoint’s national provider page directs you to select the state where you serve its members and offers Availity sign-in for authorizations, claims and eligibility. Use the state’s current provider site to identify its payer resources. Do not treat an old Amerigroup bookmark or the Elevance parent-company name as a guarantee that every product has the same enrollment or transaction path. Wellpoint national provider page
For Tennessee, Wellpoint identifies Availity as its exclusive EDI partner and provides separate clearinghouse instructions. For Washington, its join-network page places Provider Enrollment under the Wellpoint Washington payer space. Those are different tasks despite sharing an Availity entry point. Before you create Wellpoint portal access
For a new practice organization, have its tax ID, applicable NPI and business addresses ready and designate the person who will administer it. If the practice already has Availity, ask that administrator to add you and review roles. Do not register a second organization simply because a Wellpoint payer tile is missing. Availity registration prerequisites
Account setup: register your own user and the practice
If the practice already uses Availity, ask its administrator to add you instead of registering a duplicate organization. If the practice is new, the person who will administer it starts the Healthcare Provider registration, creates a personal account, verifies the requested information and registers the organization through Manage My Organization. Complete the email and 2-step authentication prompts for your own account. Availity administrator guide (2025)

Availity permits an existing personal account to register an additional organization; it does not require another personal login for each one. Administrator authorization and the relevant roles still apply. The Florida training crop below shows Availity’s organization prompt as a platform example, not a Wellpoint enrollment application. Add your Wellpoint biller as a User with assigned roles
The administrator opens Manage My Team(s), selects the correct organization and uses Add User or Invite Users. Enter the biller’s own details, then assign the roles their actual job needs. The March 2026 administrator guide identifies “Add users using Invite Users” as the help topic for this workflow. Review the organization and permissions before sending; an invitation is access to your practice, not a network application. Availity administrator guide, revised March 2026

For an outside billing service, agree which access relationship you are using before adding a person. Availity’s provider-registration guidance describes both billing-service access and provider organizations adding billing-service user IDs to their own organization. Use the supported arrangement for your practice; neither arrangement requires handing over the practice administrator’s password. Availity billing-service arrangements
Wellpoint login errors and missing access
Use “Forgot your user ID?” or “Forgot your password?” on the public sign-in page for credential recovery. If you can sign in but cannot see the practice or a tool, ask your organization administrator to check membership and assigned roles. For technical login help call Availity Client Services at 800-282-4548, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Eastern. A password reset does not create a missing payer permission. Availity technical help
If login works but the Wellpoint tool is absent, check the selected organization, region and assigned roles before changing credentials. Payer Spaces and available functions vary by plan and state. Use the official Wellpoint state site for plan-service issues, while Availity handles its own sign-in and technical support. Availity user guide, getting to your payers
Wellpoint credentialing: the Washington and TennCare distinction
Washington’s official workflow first requires state-provider approval, then Availity > Payer Spaces > Wellpoint Washington > Applications > Provider Enrollment. This is a Washington example, not a national enrollment shortcut. Tennessee has its own TennCare registration and network rules; the related state guides below keep those steps separate from creating an Availity account. Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Wellpoint provider portal login?
Use the official Availity login linked at the top. Wellpoint’s provider page links Availity and asks you to select the state where you serve members for plan-specific resources.
Is Wellpoint credentialing the same as Availity registration?
No. Availity registration establishes portal users and organization access. Network enrollment is a separate state-plan process; Washington’s Provider Enrollment application is one example reached through a payer space.
Can one Availity login serve more than one organization?
Availity’s administrator guide says an existing personal account can register another organization. Each organization still needs the proper registration and user access; this does not grant automatic access to unrelated practices.
How does my biller get Wellpoint portal access?
An Availity administrator adds or invites the biller’s own User account and assigns roles for the needed work. An outside billing service should use the supported billing-service relationship, with the practice’s approval.
