TL;DR: use your own login, and give your biller their own

Use your own Login ID after selecting the provider. Your biller gets their own user account created by the administrator. A website account is separate from Medicaid provider enrollment. official guide.

Who needs their own LA Medicaid login

Give each person their own Login ID instead of sharing the administrator’s password. The administrator creates a user account for the biller through Manage Users. The provider-entry screen and personal sign-in screen are two stages of this portal’s login. official guide.

Before you create access

Have the provider NPI or Medicaid ID available. The administrator’s first-time verification uses information from the Provider Enrollment Packet, including the physical address. Use the current administrator guide if that verification does not match. official guide.

Create or use your LA Medicaid account

Enter the provider NPI or Medicaid ID and the displayed security characters, then choose Next. On the next screen, enter your personal Login ID and password. The User Manual notes that these entries are case-sensitive. official guide.

Add your biller: Create User

The administrator opens My Profile, then Manage Users, then Create User. Enter the new user’s own information and follow the confirmation. The guide describes two emails, including a temporary password, so the biller can establish their own access. Never share the administrator’s password. official guide.

Login errors, forgotten IDs and missing access

The personal sign-in screen has Login ID and password recovery links. If the provider record or account needs assistance, the manual lists 1-877-598-8753 and lamedicaid@gainwelltechnologies.com. Check the current manual before repeating first-time verification. official guide.

Where do I log in to Louisiana Medicaid?

Start at the LA Medicaid provider login page on lamedicaid.com. Enter the provider ID or NPI and security characters before the personal Login ID and password screen.

Why does LA Medicaid ask for an NPI before my Login ID?

The first screen identifies the provider. The next screen signs in the individual user. These are two stages in the same provider portal.

How does my biller get a Louisiana Medicaid portal account?

The provider administrator uses My Profile > Manage Users > Create User. The biller receives their own account information and temporary-password email.
