CuraLinc / SupportLinc Billing: Confirm the Referral’s Filing Rules

By George Ruan • October 22, 2026

Public guidance reviewed October 22, 2026. US therapy-practice billing; documentation review, not a live claim submission.

For a CuraLinc or SupportLinc referral, the missing piece is often the assignment’s actual reimbursement instructions. Public employer-benefit pages describe how members access care, but they do not necessarily tell an independent therapist where to submit a bill. Obtain that distinction before creating a payer in your claims system.

The verified provider support route

CuraLinc’s current contact page separates network applications from support for existing or applicant providers. It links an Affiliate Provider Support Form. Use the provider route to request the billing instructions for the actual assignment; the employer sales form and member login are different entry points. CuraLinc provider contact page.

The public sources reviewed here do not establish a universal EAP 837P payer ID, submission portal, invoice recipient, CPT/HJ rule or filing deadline. This is a limit of the public evidence, not a claim that CuraLinc cannot support electronic billing or that all assignments use invoices.

Get an actionable answer before the first bill

Suggested provider-support question: “For this assigned counseling referral under our provider agreement, which reimbursement form or electronic process should we use, which case identifier belongs on it, and what are the submission and correction deadlines?” Use the program’s approved secure channel for any patient-specific identifiers or documents.

  • Submission channel: identify whether the assignment uses an invoice, case form, provider portal or specifically approved electronic claim.

  • Electronic destination: if 837P is permitted, obtain the clearinghouse payer entry and required member/case and authorization fields. A support case number is not automatically a payer ID.

  • Coding: confirm the service or CPT, whether any modifiers are required, payable session length, approved modality and any place-of-service reporting.

  • Billing schedule: ask whether requests are allowed per visit, periodically or at case closure, and what date starts the filing clock.

  • Payment and corrections: confirm the contracted rate, required supporting material, remittance route and how to correct a request without duplicating it.

Match billing to the assigned benefit

CuraLinc describes provider matching that considers member needs, availability, modality and health-plan network participation. That matching context is useful for care access, but it does not itself establish whether the employer EAP or the medical plan is paying for a particular visit. CuraLinc’s provider-matching explanation.

Keep the approved referral and billing instruction together. Verify the covered dates and remaining sessions, then compare the delivered encounter with the requested reimbursement. Do not infer that the client’s health-plan network participation is permission to bill that plan for a sponsored EAP encounter.

Avoid the two common document mix-ups

An employer contract describing what an organization pays CuraLinc is not a clinician reimbursement schedule. Likewise, a patient superbill used to request out-of-network benefits is not necessarily the provider’s EAP bill. Confirm whose invoice the document describes and which party owes the payment before using its deadlines or destination.

Create a clean follow-up record

Once the assignment’s process is confirmed, retain the submitted request, service dates and delivery reference. If payment is absent, ask whether the request was received, accepted as complete and processed, then reconcile the response to the practice ledger. Those are separate states; a successfully sent document does not by itself establish an allowed amount or a received payment.

Compare EAP networks or review authorization and session-limit checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the universal CuraLinc or SupportLinc EAP payer ID?

No universal ID is established by the public sources reviewed here. Obtain the supported transaction and destination for the assignment rather than selecting an unrelated similarly named payer.

Should I assume CuraLinc uses 99404-HJ?

No. Confirm the assigned program’s coding and reimbursement instructions through its provider resources or Affiliate Provider Support route.
