Sessions Health: Biller and Document Access

By George Ruan • October 25, 2026

Use this guide when Bomi needs a Sessions Health billing account or cannot open a client’s documents to upload a prepared billing document such as a Good Faith Estimate.

Instructions checked October 25, 2026 against the official sources below. Menu names can change; use the stated support route if your screen differs.

Sections

1. Confirm the existing member

  1. Have a practice administrator open Account Settings → Members and search for the exact Bomi user named in your request. Do not invite another account before checking the existing one.

  2. For a genuinely new user, choose + Add Member, enter the supplied email, select the agreed role and Send Invite. The invitee accepts and sets their own password.

2. Separate billing and document access

The Biller role supports billing, claims and payments, but does not automatically provide clinical-document access. Forms Administrator manages account forms; it is not proof that a user can open a particular client’s uploaded files.

For an existing practitioner who needs a specific client record, the official client-access guide describes client-level Manage Access. Do not turn an outside biller into a Practitioner or grant all-client clinical access merely to make an upload work. Ask Sessions Health to confirm a supported access route for the existing billing user.

3. Ask support the exact permission question

  1. Open the official Managing Users and Roles article below and choose Contact Us. Identify the existing user, their current role and that the task is uploading a prepared PDF for a particular client.

  2. Ask: “Can our existing Biller user open this client’s Files/Documents and upload a prepared Good Faith Estimate without full clinical access? Please show the supported permission and its settings path. If that is not supported for a Biller, what is the least-access alternative?”

  3. If the supported answer requires a broader role, review that scope with Bomi before changing it. An authorized practice member may instead upload the prepared PDF using their existing access.

4. Confirm the result

Tell Bomi whether its existing user can now open the intended client’s document area and upload the PDF, or which restriction support confirmed. Bomi should verify access before treating the upload as complete. No need to recreate the estimate simply because its upload was blocked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Biller role automatically include clinical documents?

No. Billing functions and clinical-document access are separate. Confirm the supported route for the specific upload before granting broader access.

Should I give the biller Practitioner access to fix an upload?

Do not assume that is required. Ask Sessions Health to identify the supported permission or have an already-authorized practice member upload the prepared document.
