Can a Practice Manager Update CAQH for Multiple Clinicians?
By Bomi editorial • October 26, 2026

Yes—CAQH documents a practice-manager workflow for preparing shared data for multiple clinicians. It does not make every clinician’s profile complete automatically. The documented sequence is manager export, clinician review/import, then completion of that clinician’s profile and attestation.

Which instructions apply to our account?
The public Provider User Guide linked below is version 43, dated August 22, 2023. Chapter 7 documents the Practice Manager module. Use it to understand the handoff; follow the prompts and support guidance for your current account if its interface differs. Do not create a second clinician profile just because an old menu or login route is missing.

Why has the manager’s change not appeared in a clinician profile?
In the published workflow, the manager exports data and the clinician can review it and choose to import it. An active Import control appears in a section with available data. Import can add information or replace an existing entry. Shared preparation therefore is not proof that every individual profile contains the update.
A useful troubleshooting question is “Which handoff is incomplete?” Check the intended recipient and section before entering the same information again. For example, an office address prepared centrally may still need review in one clinician’s profile. Conversely, replacing a location indiscriminately could remove information about another office where that clinician still practices.
What should we track for each clinician?
Use a simple working checklist rather than one group-wide “CAQH done” box. Suggested columns:
Clinician name and existing CAQH identifier, checked against your own authorized records.
Specific section or information being changed, and whether the change applies to this clinician.
Who prepared the information and who will review it in the clinician profile.
Profile review outcome, outstanding documents or errors, and the next owner.
Attestation status shown by the account and any separate payer follow-up.
The guide treats organization authorization, supporting documents and attestation as separate parts of profile completion. Preparing or importing information does not replace those checks.
Is a group roster account the same as Practice Manager?
No. DataSpring’s delegated-group FAQ describes a separate roster workflow: an administrator uploads provider and location templates, resolves validation errors, assigns clinicians to locations and grants participating health plans access. It also describes plan-download history. Being a group practice does not by itself establish a delegated credentialing arrangement.
DataSpring: delegated-group roster questions
Before choosing an account type, write down the actual task: maintaining individual credentialing profiles or sharing a roster under an established delegated arrangement. Ask support which current access route fits that task if the account labels are unclear. Do not assume every search result for “CAQH group login” describes your practice’s workflow.
What should we ask the clinician to confirm?
A focused handoff could read: “Please review the updated office information in your existing profile, tell us whether it applies to all of your locations, and let us know what the account still requires before completion.” Avoid sending passwords in the handoff. Keep any payer application reference separate from your internal CAQH tracking row.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we mark the whole practice complete after one shared-data update?
No. Check the outcome in each affected clinician profile and record what remains, with an owner for the next step.
Which CAQH account should we open for a new hire?
First confirm whether the clinician already has a profile. Use current official login and support guidance to resolve access before creating another account.
